St. Mary's is a Voice 21 School!
At St. Mary’s, oracy is at the heart of our curriculum. We understand that oracy is a powerful tool for learning and that effective communication skills is fundamental to empower pupils and help them to understand themselves, each other and the world around them. In addition, oracy fosters wellbeing and supports pupils in being able to form successful relationships.
We strive to create an oracy-rich community, where we ensure that all children feel that their voices are valued and listened to. The children are taught to use their voice confidently to: reason, negotiate, present and explore ideas to support their learning across the curriculum and to prepare them for later life.
