Autumn disco

We have had a fantastic Autumn disco! We had lots of fun dancing, singing and eating sweets together. Thank you PTFA!

Maths snacks

We loved making our own snacks this morning. We practiced being safe with knives to cut our favourite fruits and practiced counting and comparing amount. It was a very tasty activity!

Reception have been learning all about Autumn! We have been looking for signs of autumn in our outdoor area, exploring the school grounds on autumn walks, exploring the curiosity cube, made our own leaf men and colour mixed to make autumnal coloured leaves.

Pumpkin fun

Reception have loved scooping the seeds out the pumpkins and have decided they would like to plant the seeds to see what happens! They fed some pieces of pumpkin to the guinea pigs and then decided that they would like to feed the wild animals around the school too with the leftover pumpkin.

Shape exploration

This week in Reception we have been investigating 3D shapes and have been finding out which shapes roll and which shapes stack. We have also been making our own 3D shape junk modelling creations.

Reading dog

Reception were so excited to be given the opportunity to have a visit from the reading dog this week. We listened carefully to how to safely approach dogs and shared a story together.

We hope he visits again soon!

After reading 'It's Diwali' the children enjoyed making their own salt dough and creating their own diva lamps. They coloured mixed and decorated their diva lamps to celebrate Diwali.

The children also engaged designing henna patterns, decorating rangoli patterns and acting out the story of Rama and Sita.

Reception have loved learning about bonfire night celebrations, they made icing sparklers, chocolate apples and enjoyed using sparklers practicing all they had learnt about being safe on bonfire night.

Remembrance day

Reception took time to remember the brave soldiers who fought for our country. They took part in a 2 minute silence, made their own poppies and printed poppies using apples.
