The Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations

As part of the jubilee celebrations Reception dressed in red, white and blue, had a tea party and enjoyed a picnic with the nursery children.

The parents came to meet our chicks

We loved taking care of our 7 baby chicks and invited our grown ups in to meet the chicks and to take part in lots of fun chick activities!

Thank you for joining us!

Hatching chicks

In Reception we were given the opportunity to hatch eggs in an incubator and to take care of the chicks.

We watched 7 chicks hatch out of their eggs and have loved taking care of them.

Dinosaurs come to St Mary's

The children discovered that dinosaurs had been using the outdoor area and had left behind one of their eggs.

Marie Curie Catholic life pledge

The children in Reception raised money for Marie Curie by selling their artwork and wearing yellow.

World Book day 2022

The Reception classes celebrated world book day with activities linked to our favourite stories.

We had lots of fun talking about our favourite characters and why we like them.

We have been learning about Shrove Tuesday. We have taken part in the Shrove Tuesday collective worship by decorating Alleluia and preparing our prayer space for Lent. We have also been using up all of the rich and sweet ingredients by making and eating pancakes.

Valentine hearts - Catholic life pledge

Reception classes made sun catchers for the residents of the Belong Village in town as part of their Spring Term catholic life pledge.

We have been learning about the signs and symbols of Baptism. We celebrated our special names and baptised our own babies.

Chinese new year

The children have been learning about how chinese new year is celebrated and the chinese zodiac animals.

Children in need - Autumn Catholic life pledge
