"St Mary's staff are friendly, approachable and always happy to help. My daughter loves school and always telling me what she has learnt through the day. During lockdown the school supplied work for the children and the videos to support lessons were fantastic. A massive well done to all.Outstanding school."                                                                                    (Parents comments June 2021)

Miss Sims and Mrs Oxley are available to deal with important concerns of parents.

How can I volunteer?

The help we receive from parents and parishioners is invaluable and is much appreciated by staff. If you are interested in helping within school, and have the necessary free time, please speak to any member of the teaching staff.  Regular helpers in school are all checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB check) in line with child protection guidelines.

Parents can help in many different ways, including:

  • Sharing skills and interests e.g. talking about their job, bringing in artefacts
  • Listening to children read
  • Accompanying children on educational visits
  • Making costumes for productions and assemblies
  • Helping with the garden area
  • Maintaining key school areas such as the library, computer room or maths equipment
